Manure Scraper System for Pig & Sheep Barns Introduction
The manure scraper automates cleaning—reducing labor, improving hygiene, lowering ammonia levels, and minimizing disease risk. It’s a standard system in modern pig and sheep barns.
1. Material
- Scraper blade: Food-grade engineering plastic (e.g., HDPE or UHMW-PE)—wear-resistant, low-friction, and floor-friendly;
- Traction chain: Hot-dip galvanized alloy steel or stainless steel—high tensile strength;
- Guide rail & supports: Galvanized steel tube or angle iron—rust-resistant and durable.
2. Available Types
- Suitable for: Pig barns (weaner/grower), sheep sheds, cattle alleyways;
- Scraper width: 600 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm, 1200 mm (custom to gutter width);
- Max single run: ≤100 meters (with proper drive unit).
3. Key Specifications
- Motor power: 0.75 kW–2.2 kW (3-phase, 380V);
- Travel speed: 5–8 meters/minute;
- Control mode: Timer, PLC, or manual switch;
- Protection rating: IP55 (dust and splash resistant).
4. Typical Dimensions (e.g., 1000 mm wide scraper)
- Scraper height: 200–250 mm;
- Thickness: 15–25 mm;
- Chain pitch: Standard 31.75 mm (1¼”);
- Support spacing: Every 3–5 meters along the gutter.
5. Installation
Install guide rail supports along both sides of the manure gutter, aligned and level. Thread the traction chain and attach the scraper, ensuring full contact with the gutter floor. Mount the drive unit at one end to pull the chain back and forth. Before first power-on, check limit switch positions and run empty to verify smooth operation.
