Automatic Egg Collector for Layer Hens – Brief Introduction

This equipment significantly reduces manual labor for egg collection, improves egg cleanliness, and boosts efficiency—making it a standard component in modern layer farms.

1. Material

The egg collector is mainly made of food-grade PVC or PP plastic—smooth, non-toxic, and gentle on eggs. The support frames and roller shafts are made of hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel, which are rust-resistant and durable in the humid environment of poultry houses.

(1) By structure: Egg trough type (fixed U-shaped channel) and Conveyor belt type (automatically transports eggs to a collection station);
(2) By compatibility: Designed for 3-tier, 4-tier, or 5-tier layer cages, with customizable lengths to fit your house.

  • Egg rolling slope: 5°–8°, ensuring smooth egg flow without jamming;
  • Load capacity: ≥10 kg per meter;
  • Service life: Plastic parts last over 5 years; metal frames last over 10 years;
  • Suitable for common commercial layers (white-shell, brown-shell, etc.).
  • Trough width: 200–250 mm;
  • Trough depth: 60–80 mm;
  • Standard section length: 1.5 m, 2 m, or 3 m (sections can be connected);
  • Installation height: Aligned with or slightly lower (5–10 mm) than the rear edge of the cage floor to allow eggs to roll in smoothly.

First, mount the support brackets onto the front posts of the cages. Then install the egg troughs with a slight downward slope toward the egg collection aisle. When connecting multiple sections, ensure they are aligned with no gaps to prevent eggs from getting stuck or cracked. For conveyor belt systems, connect the motor and control unit, and coordinate layout with feeding and manure removal systems.
