Fish Toilet (Bottom Drain Waste Collector) Introduction

The fish toilet is a key component in high-density recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS)—efficiently removing feed waste and feces to maintain water quality and reduce disease risk.

1. Material

Made of food-grade UPVC or ABS engineering plastic—corrosion-resistant, non-toxic, and scale-free. Seals are EPDM rubber—aging-resistant and leak-proof. Premium models may feature 304 stainless steel drain pipes.

  • Drain outlet sizes: Φ110 mm, Φ160 mm, Φ200 mm (common);
  • Compatible with: round/square galvanized tanks, concrete ponds, FRP tanks;
  • Optional: anti-vortex cover or debris basket to prevent clogging.
  • Operating water depth: ≥0.8 m;
  • Waste removal efficiency: ≥85% of settled solids per flush;
  • Pressure rating: ≥0.3 MPa;
  • Temperature range: 0°C–50°C.
  • Top collection plate diameter: 300–400 mm;
  • Total height: approx. 150–200 mm;
  • Installation hole in tank bottom: Φ160–170 mm;
  • Connection: Socket-glued or flanged.

During tank construction, embed the fish toilet at the lowest center point of the pond floor, ensuring it’s level and slightly sloped toward the center for waste collection. Connect the outlet downward to the main drain pipe with a watertight seal. Perform a water test after installation. Waste is removed periodically via timed drain valves or manual/siphon flushing.
