Knife-Coated Fabric Liner for Galvanized Steel Fish Tank Introduction

The knife-coated fabric liner is lightweight, flexible, and highly waterproof—serving as the essential anti-leak component in galvanized steel fish tanks, widely used in land-based recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).

1. Material

Made of high-strength polyester scrim fabric with double-sided PVC knife-coated layers—non-toxic, tear-resistant, and UV-stable. Complies with aquaculture safety standards and safe for direct contact with water.

  • Weight: commonly 850g/m², 1000g/m², 1200g/m²;
  • Thickness: approx. 0.6–1.0 mm;
  • Colors: dark blue, forest green, black (to inhibit algae growth);
  • Roll width: 1.5m, 2.0m, 3.2m (heat-weldable for seamless joints).
  • Tensile strength: ≥2500 N/5cm (warp & weft);
  • Hydrostatic resistance: ≥0.3 MPa;
  • Operating temperature: -30°C to +70°C;
  • Service life: 5–8 years (under outdoor exposure).
  • For round tank (e.g., Φ6m × H1.2m): approx. 28–30 m² unfolded area;
  • For rectangular tank (e.g., 4m × 6m × 1.2m): approx. 30–35 m²;
  • Delivery: Pre-cut as one piece or in panels with overlap edges for on-site heat welding.

Lay the fabric liner inside the assembled galvanized steel tank, ensuring smooth bottom and snug corners. Overlapping seams are sealed with a hot-air welder using double-track welding for watertight integrity. The top edge is secured to the tank rim with clamping strips or metal bands. Inspect for punctures or weak welds before filling with water.
