Chain-Driven Feeder System Drive Unit Introduction
The drive unit is the “heart” of the pan feeder system—delivering reliable power to ensure efficient and uniform feed distribution to every trough.
1. Material
- Housing: 201/304 stainless steel or powder-coated carbon steel—dust and moisture resistant;
- Gearbox: Cast iron or die-cast aluminum, sealed and pre-lubricated;
- Sprocket: Heat-treated alloy steel—wear-resistant surface.
2. Available Types
- Compatible chain: Standard 25.4 mm (1″) pitch pan chain;
- Motor power: 0.55 kW, 0.75 kW, or 1.1 kW (3-phase, 380V);
- Max line length: ≤150 meters (single-direction drive).
3. Key Specifications
- Output speed: approx. 6–10 rpm (after gearbox reduction);
- Chain linear speed: 10–15 meters/minute;
- Protection rating: IP54 (dust and splash resistant);
- Control mode: Manual switch / timer / automatic PLC.
4. Typical Dimensions (e.g., 2.2 kW model)
- Unit size (L×W×H): approx. 1500 mm × 500 mm × 700 mm;
- Sprocket diameter: Φ120–150 mm;
- Mounting hole pattern: 1500 mm × 400mm (4 holes);
- Weight: 40-80kg.
5. Installation
Mount the drive unit securely on a bracket or wall at one end of the feed line—align sprocket center with tube axis. Bolt down the base and connect power. Thread the chain around the sprocket and adjust tension (use a tensioner if needed). Before first power-on, verify rotation direction (must move feed forward). Run empty for 5 minutes to confirm smooth operation before feeding.
